Did You Know The Government of Cote d’Ivoire Doesn’t Want Anyone Calling Them Ivory Coast?

I was insulted by several Africans for about 2 days, I tried to explain by giving them links, screenshots and even wrote an entire article but I still continue to get insulted. Like when I said it’s 56 countries in Africa, because the African Union has 55 members and Somaliland is a country.

Not only is Somaliland a country, but it has a government, a military, a flag but the world outside of the 42 or 44 countries of the United Nations won’t accept that it’s a real country. Not even African influencers.

They visit every country except for the 2 countries that the United Nations doesn’t accept as being “real countries”, but for people to insult me is really annoying.

Back in 1985 Cote d’Ivoire informed the United Nations that it’s official name was always to be Cote d’Ivoire. It’s actually illegal in the country to use the name Ivory Coast.
