Ghana Importing Used Clothes 40% End Up in Landfills; What Does Race Have to do With Used Clothing?
People are burning toxic fabrics causing harm to the environment

Note this is an African wide issue however according to statistics Ghana takes in more than most African countries. With 15 million items each week, 52 weeks in a year would mean 780 million items a year.
Remember when Ghana’s President Akufo-Addo spoke at the climate summit, telling wealthy nations to give African countries money for climate crisis? Whelp his country is leading in pollution especially of the air.
Well BBC News has now written about the piling filthy used clothing that Ghana allows to be imported into the country. Much of the clothing is unable to be used, none is given away for free. Therefore over 40% probably more ends up in landfills in the country.
Some Ghanians have been burning the clothing, which isn’t all made out of natural or cotton fibers.
In the video he’s asking for $100 Billion USD every year for African countries, which is ridiculous considering many countries have no plan for repairing…
