Women are not even second class citizens in Ghana & Ghanaians love lying about this!

In 2020 I was living in Ghana the EC (Electoral Commission), quickly announced the Akufo-Addo had won, even without all regions counted. She even said percentages out loud and ended with 110%. I don’t think most Ghanaians even heard, cared or knew that it was not supposed to be 110%, however it was even written on screen.

This year December 2024, it took the same Electoral Commission several hours into the night (6 pm Ghana time), of the following day to announce the actual results. Even after the candidates had not only succeeded but made their speeches.

This caused several outbreaks of violence at the many counting centers around the country. Ghanaians ran to these offices, throwing chairs and storming buildings.
