I’m Learning To Say Nothing

I was seated at a local dive of a bar. I mean it is tiny, doesn’t cost much to drink and has very few customers. I like to sit there just to get outside some days and enjoy fresh air.

I don’t fully speak the language, as a matter of fact I only know a few words. When you surround yourself with those whom are less worldly (for lack of a better more honest blunt term), you often find that many people think rude behavior is acceptable. People often insult me, talk about me right in front of my face. How do I know this, well I know insulting words in their local language. Plus I’m old enough to know body language, I can tell when someone is talking about me.

Not to mention people who I trust have told me when a person was talking about me. They will tell me after the fact, here insults are to be ignored unless its a Ghanian being insulted they’ll get very angry if you insult them. Foreigners are often insulted, we are supposed to do as Jesus taught, “turn the other cheek!”

I just like to know so that I will no longer trust that person with anything. I also would like to not be around them ever again. This…
